Article: We are small (can only be small) in our heads only
Paris, early spring 1992. We sit in a restaurant in the Latin Quarter with a respected French architect. He, a man of middle to late years, a refined skinny intellectual with round glasses and curly grey hair, looks at me inquisitively when I explain the so very obvious advantages of the products which are made by a company from the Dolenjska region, the products I had started to represent on the French market. And me... more

Survey results: When one accelerant will replace several
During the time of intensive discussions on joining the food-processing industry and evaluation of potential consumer reactions to the unified performing of these companies, it is informative to review the results of research conducted by the advisors of SIGEM Business Consulting, when such connections only existed on paper. Besides the quality of work, the research also dealt with consumer opinion, displayed through a customer survey on the possibility of bringing together accelerants which have been separated until now.... more

Article: Austrians for Slovenians: Instruction Manual
Austrian-Slovenian relations are getting a lot of attention, especially lately. The reasons and everything connected with, for example, the Austrian State Treaty or the statements of this and that chancellor or governor are not so important. Let us look beyond and focus on the positive things that connect us with our northern neighbour. Even though our historical link to Austria is very strong, we can not forget that our roots are different: one is Germanic and the other Slav. It seems everything is in the power of exploitation of the riches of differences and not of falling or loosing ourselves in the abyss of differences.... more

Article: The supervision of the most important fields in the renovation of business
When a company decides to restructure business operations or to at least change the business operations of a certain sector, it is necessary to focus attention on some of the most important areas of the restructuring. Besides managing change and the required
mental
preparations, the following is especially important: harmonising the strategic and organisational transformation of operations, the total control over the restructuring process, the strategic upgrading of informatics, making employee rewards dependent on results and the strategic managing of marketing activities.... more -
Article: Dutch for Slovenians: Instruction Manual
How would you describe a typical Slovenian businessman? On the outside he is confident, responsible, and standing behind his own views and decisions? Let us describe a businessman who is not typically Slovenian, and we might answer the above questions.
A Dutch businessman, as opposed to a Slovenian one, has a developed ego and a sense of personal responsibility; he is simultaneously relaxed and does not avoid taking risks. The smaller the country, the more necessary is its incorporation into international economic currents.... more -
Article: The Decision for the Introduction of CRM
Two repeating observations encourage me to write this article in relation to the conditions and relations to the sale-marketing function and the concept of CRM (Customer Relations Management) in Slovenian companies.
The first observation refers to the fact that in the last ten years, the general knowledge about the sales-marketing function in Slovenia, especially in those companies which are, by the nature of their activities, of a distinctly sales nature, achieved a great step forward... more -
Article: Drama - Reengineering of information systems
In Slovenia ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is fashionable. This phenomena which follows the global and European boom from the middle of the 90’s, is spreading more and more, even in Slovenia. Despite numerous and often negative experiences with introducing ERP systems into Slovenian companies, the growth of this market segment is irrepressible. The mostly
computerised
approach of ERP introduction into companies, besides profit, also brings numerous problems, but above all it contributes to non-integration and ineffective operation of ERP systems in the complete information system (IS) of the company... more -
Article: French for Slovenians: Instruction Manual
Recently publicised disputes between the management of a Slovenian subsidiary of a renown French company and their Slovenian employees reflect, at least from the outside, poor intercultural communication. This is that extra component of international management, which is already on a national basis, putting the hard discipline of management, particularly human resource management, to the test with even more difficult tasks. Namely, international business operations are not just a combination of technical businesses, customs formalities, goods delivery and payment flows, as by many faculties and business schools limit them to... more

Article: The economy of ability
The unstoppable spread of use, and need for a global Internet has (and still will have) irreversible consequences and influence on all strata’s, fields, and representatives of society. Irreversible does not mean negative, but it does mean a certain need for adaptation, actualisation, and acceptance of changes of all kinds – even in the economy.
THE NEW ECONOMIC MODEL IS BASED ONTHE ECONOMY OF ABILITY
, WHERE THE CREATION OF VALUE DEPENDS ON THE SPEED OF THE TRANSACTION OF DATA AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF ABILITY.... more
